From fan fics to voting polls, there are people bent on putting Mamoru with other women like Rei or Pluto. In neither case is there a good match because in both cases, feelings, if any at all, were one sided and only on the part of the females. Rei, *only in the anime* chased after Mamochan, never in the manga, but Mamochan didn't really care for Rei in that way. Where, though, does the potential love coupling of Pluto and King Endymon come in?

In Manga Volume 5, Usagi, Mamoru, Chibi Usa and the other senshi are taken to the future where they meet King Endymion. The King is upset over his Queen who is encased in crystal, in a frozen sleep. When Chibi Usa disappears, King Endymion visits Pluto at the Time Gate and that is the first time he meets Pluto and Pluto is visibly pleased that the King has come to visit. Pluto smiles, and Chibi Usa notices this, and thinks to herself, 'Puu only smiles like that with me.' It is apparent that Pluto was happy to receive a visit from King Endymion because the only other people who visited her were Chibi Usa and the Neo-Queen Selenity. It is all specualtion as to whether she had any attraction and affection towards the King. What is important to know is that the King does not have any feelings for Sailor Pluto. King Endymion's sole thoughts are upon his Queen and his daughter. And after speaking with Pluto about Chibi Usa's disappearance, he immediately leaves. The other basis for people's views that Pluto is "in love with" or has a "crush" on the King is when Pluto dies for the first time. She stops time to prevent Diamond from uniting the Silver Crystals of past and present and the penalty for stopping time, is death. King Endymion is shocked that Pluto has stopped time and when she collapses, he runs to her to help her. Pluto though remarks on how his lavendar suit is the color of evening - and how Usagi/Selenity is the one she longed for - to help her, to protect her.

We learn that for Pluto, and all the Senshi, their first love and first priority above all else is the Princess/Queen. Usagi/Selenity is their life and for her, they will give up everything, even their own lives. As you can see in the manga translations below, Usagi of the future, Queen Selenity (also Neo-Queen) granbts her a restful sleep but then reincarnates her and sends her to the past. When she is reincarnated she is taller, stronger, and no longer has feelings for the King.

It is to be noted that Pluto never had feelings for Mamoru. Only King Endymion. Selenity/Usagi is crucial to both their lives. Without Usagi Pluto would live a life all alone forever at the Time Gate. Without Usagi, Mamoru would be alone and never become King and thus, Pluto would never have the opportunity to get to know the King and have a crush on him.

Does Pluto have a crush on King Endymion? The evidence of the manga is inconclusive. But whether or not Pluto cares for the King is irrelevant because she has only one love - and THAT is Usagi/Selenity.

Pluto is knocked to the floor, and loses consciousness.

Usagi and Minako run to her. "Pluto!? Wake up!"

The king runs over. "She shouldn't have done that! She stopped time...!"

"Pluto did what!?" Ami says.

"She stopped time. She violated the most important law..."

"What law!?"

Pluto moans.

"The most important law!? What's that!? And if Pluto broke it, what'll happen!?"

"If you ever violate that law... You will give up your life."

"She gave up her life...!?"

"Time has stopped..." Pluto says. "But it won't last for long... Sailor Moon... Carefully get back the two Mystical Silver Crystals... from Prince Diamaund..."

"Pluto!"

"Hurry!" she says.

Usagi slowly goes to Diamaund, and takes the crystals from his hands. "Pluto," says Usagi. "I got the two crystals back. Look."

"Good." says Pluto. "I... wanted to help you... To fight with you... Sailor Moon. The future Neo-Queen Selenity. You're what I longed for. Sailor Moon, please... Save Small Lady!" She coughs hard.

"Pluto! Stay with us! Just a little longer! You can get through this!"

"King..." she says. "I committed the crime by myself... I must atone for it..." She weakly reaches for her rod. "Diana..."

The gray kitten sits by the space-time door. She vanishes, and appears before Pluto. "Thank you... Diana... Guard the door for me..."

"Pluto!? Hold on!!"

"I... carried out my mission with honor... King... Your face is so close... Don't look so sad... Your lavender suit... The beautiful violet of sunset... King..."

"Pluto..."

"I can't protect Small Lady... I'm sorry..." She holds out the space-time key. "Small Lady..."

Her hand falls limp on the floor.

"Pluto!!" cries Usagi. "Open your eyes!! Noooo! Pluto!!"
